David Spruce was established in 1980 by my parents Ken and Marie-Anne Spruce.

Having started as a Saturday girl aged 13, left and returned in 2002 to buy the family business as my parents sought to retire. I gained valuable experience in banking for the Natwest and then as a sales rep for Lotus shoes and Elefanten children's shoes servicing the whole UK.  Meeting husband Paul Rhodes - General Manager of Gabor shoes UK (previously Clarks) along the way, between us we have combined over 80 years experience in the footwear industry. In 2009 William James was born and hopefully will be part of the team in years to come.

We specialize in great quality footwear, accessories and clothing which we source from leading brands all over the world. We choose the best styles from each of our suppliers to give a good choice of shoes, sandals and boots season dependent. We hope our collections will leave you spoilt for choice.

Our business has changed over recent years with the introduction of more accessories and ladies clothing. Our website has been instrumental over recent years whilst we do sell online where you are not local to us, there's still nothing better than to try on in store and feel the quality.

Our team are experienced, friendly and helpful. Many of them have been part of the David Spruce business for decades and we are very proud of them. They are part of the family ethos. You will see lots of them on our socials periodically, Facebook and Instagram.
